Albuquerque Most Wanted Property Crime Offender Arrested After 5 Years

Albuquerque, NM - On November 28, 2011 Deputy United States Marshals from the District of New Mexico arrested Jason Mitchell one of the Albuquerque Police Departments Most Wanted Property Crime Offenders. Mitchell was first featured in December of 2009 after his arrest warrant for failure to comply with conditions of release on charges of attempted burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary was issued on 12/11/2006.

Mitchell’s arrest marks the third arrest by the United States Marshals Service this month for individuals placed on the City of Albuquerque's Most Wanted Property Crime Offenders list. United States Marshal for the District of New Mexico, Conrad E. Candelaria said “the Marshals Service Task Force is founded on the principle of collaboration and partnership for the sole purpose of pursuing those fugitives that have caused immense pain and suffering with their criminal behavior within our communities and this latest arrest is another example of the effectiveness that can stem from the Marshals Service partnerships with local, county, state and tribal law enforcement agencies”.

The United States Marshals Service works closely with the Albuquerque Police Department who is a Member of the Marshals Service Southwest Fugitive Investigative Team (SWIFT Task Force) to apprehend fugitives in Albuquerque and those that flee the city limits to avoid apprehension. Also arrested this month were Chris Cordova and Raymond Moya. Cordova was arrested in El Paso where he was living attempting to hide form his charges in NM. Moya was arrested in Albuquerque where he was found in possession of almost 55 grams of heroin. SWIFT Investigators and the Albuquerque Gang Unit worked closely to apprehend Moya and Cordova who are both gang members from the Albuquerque area."
